"I thought of making myself a beautiful wooden puppet. It must be marvellous, one that will be able to dance, fence, and turn somersaults in the air. And with this puppet I intend to go around the world, to earn a crust of bread and a glass of wine"

Marino Marini also loved to travel “to absorb the atmosphere and the emotions of other countries” and he will continue to do so for all his life.

Certain places more than others were for him congenial: Milan for work, Pistoia for the affections he shared, Rome for relaxing!

Even his works were born in precise places and encounters were for him a font of inspiration. Parents and children visiting the museum will become acquainted with the adventurous life of the artist with the aid of a map to complete: at each stop of this special trip, works, personal objects, tales and photographs become the protagonists of a story all to be discovered.

“The baggage” needed to tackle this voyage will be a nice surprise that will be donated to visitors at the entrance to the Museum.

During the course of the workshop “Once upon a time a piece of wood”, for children between the ages of 5 to 11 years, excerpts from the book of the Adventures of Pinocchio will be read in English. The translation in italian will be enriched with the aid of images taken from the book of the artist. There will follow a workshop for them to create their own “edition of Pinocchio”
